WFWP ASSEMBLY “EMPOWERING”

If I chose one word to describe my experience at the Women’s Federation for World Peace event it would be empowering. The informative, uplifting discussions, the professional but familial atmosphere, the impressive and inspirational individuals present, were all components of an overall effect of high level cooperation and communication in an effort for real, tangible movement toward a united goal. It was truly a Women’s Federation for World Peace.

In my time at Barrytown College where I was studying Religion and Philosophy, and now in my time at University of Bridgeport studying International Political Economy and Diplomacy, I am searching with God for a career and life path that will allow me to give most to the world around me. I found that WFWP is a group of like-minded people many of whom have already done incredible work in their lives toward the same goal of moving the world toward peace.

I was honored to become a member of WFWP and met with Mrs. Alexa Ward who told me about opportunities of working with the WFWP UN Office in the future. On Wednesday the 4th of November through my connection with Mrs. Ward, I was fortunate enough to be the only student invited to the 21st Anniversary of the International Year of the Family in New York City, another very inspirational and impressive event.

I am extremely grateful for the funding that came from the Colorado WFWP Chapter members to make my trip to the Assembly in Washington, DC possible. It was the start of what I am sure will be a very important and impactful relationship with WFWP in my life.
