Chicago, Illinois was host to the WFWP National Vice-President, Juanita Pierre-Louis on February second and third. A Spirituality, Healing, and Service program was held by the Chicago Chapter of WFWP and was co-sponsored by the American Clergy Leadership Conference in Chicago. Many women clergy were in attendance. Owing to extreme cold with delayed travel time, the program began a little late, but the room, beautifully decorated by Fannie Smith and her team to reflect Black History Month, was soon filled with a powerful healing spirit.

Rev. Helen Cooper, Pastor of the Westside Center of Truth, offered the opening prayer and then we shared refreshments and each person introduced themselves. We were entertained by Evangelist Rita Pritchett and her accompanist, Evangelist Pam Woods. They performed one of Dr. Martin Luther King's favorite songs. Fannie Smith served as the emcee and gave a short bio of Juanita also mentioning some of her future plans.

Juanita shared an in-depth presentation on women's health, healing, and spirituality as well as offering advice for family life. The handout packets she brought were handed out, and Juanita gave a PowerPoint presentation explaining the meaning and purpose of the Marriage Blessing.

Patricia Fliginger introduced WFWP and invited all to join either outright or on a trial basis. Several ladies became members right then and there. To conclude, we were treated to another musical selection; we raffled off donated items allowing everyone to choose their own prize, and finally took a group picture.

Women gathering as friends and mothers engaged in the spirit healing each other and our families provided a more personal experience and nourished us as mothers to take on any challenges that await us together.
Then on February third, Juanita met with WFWP Chicago members and prospective members. Juanita spoke deeply on spirituality and healing, marriage, family, and the Blessing. More than 20 new members signed up on that date. The Chicago Chapter is bustling with new members new local projects and meetings are being planned by Fannie Smith and Patricia Fliginger. We are grateful to Juanita for generating such a powerful message and igniting Chicago in a whole new way.
