December 25th, 2013
On November 9, 2013 the Worcester Chapter of WFWP put on a Craft Fair to raise money for the Schools of Africa. The members there come from many different national and cultural backgrounds, so their outreach is to an immigrant community. The program was held at 'The Kumon Center' a tutoring center, which is run by Mrs. Yoko Sugawara and her husband. There was Japanese origami and calligraphy displays and demonstrations. There was a wide selection of ethnic foods including: Japanese Sushi, Brazilian Flan, some Philippine desserts, all kinds of sweets, and lots of Ginseng Up from Korea. I set up all my African crafts along with gift items. The high school girls were our most enthusiastic salespeople.
