The Dallas Chapter of WFWP held a general meeting at a local public library on November 23, 2013. Mrs. Laura Hornbeck, Dallas Chairwoman, presented WFWP International President, Dr. Lan Young Moon's, "HerStory" PowerPoint to all those in attendance.

Also the presentation included photos and remarks about the recent WFWPI conference in London and the WFWP, USA conference at the University of Maryland. WFWP International is focusing on the need for young women to feel encouraged and empowered to take WFWP leadership. This is something that the Dallas Chapter will focus on in the coming year.

The facilities were excellent as there was a Smart Screen for projecting PowerPoint presentations. During discussion following the presentation, those in attendance offered suggestions for getting young women involved with our WFWP chapter.

A guest who works with young people at a local Sikh temple expressed interest in inviting a few young women to a forum or panel discussion in which young women from various faith communities talk about their lives. There was also a suggestion to utilize information from the "Learn to Lead" seminar materials on the WFWP USA website, which could be a source of ideas about topics for the panel discussion. The next meeting was tentatively scheduled for late January 2014.

After the 20 minute presentation, those in attendance shared conversation, coffee, and snacks. In the spirit of the season of giving, participants brought donations for the North Texas Food Bank, a charity that distributes food to the needy. Three bags of groceries were collected.
