August 30 marked the third consecutive year that hundreds of leaders, some heads of state, public officials and international ambassadors gathered together with thousands of friends and members of the Unification Movement, at the Cheongshim Stadium outside of Seoul, Korea, to bid a final farewell to Rev. Dr. Sun Myung Moon, who, with his wife, co-founded WFWP on April 10, 1992.

The main ceremony was conducted by his wife, Dr. Hak Ja Han Moon, who has for the last three years faithfully offered public devotions for her husband, as is traditional in Korean culture. During that time she also has proven herself to be a leader in her own right to lead the worldwide movement in spite of her inner pain and the loss of her husband, encouraging everyone that "There is no stopping!" to carry on her husband's legacy of peace.

Many other events occurred throughout the week both before and after the commemorative ceremony, including the World Peace Summit, co-sponsored by WFWP International and the Universal Peace Federation (a special report will be forthcoming), to multiple leadership assemblies, sports activities, and gatherings for the youth. There was also time for groups here and there to come together and share fond memories of Father Moon.

I would like to note that during these last three years of great challenges and mourning, Mother Moon has been working very hard to complete and put the finishing touches on several projects Father Moon had begun; such as completing the construction of the International Peace Education Center (IPEC) in Las Vegas, publishing three volumes of speeches and speech excerpts containing the essence of their philosophy of peace; establishing a strong youth leadership component, and so much more. Through all this, Mother Moon has been able to create a foundation of her own, through her own leadership style, showing herself to be a capable and noteworthy woman leader and an example for other women to follow.

In fact, Mother Moon's special touch, deep thought, and warm heart was felt in every single event, and great joy and hope filled the air! We are indeed very proud of her!

As we all bid our final farewells to Father Moon, his legacy, which was undoubtedly divinely inspired, continues to live on in all who resonate with the same vision and heart and all who are willing to invest themselves wholeheartedly to see its fulfillment.
