The latest WFWP members’ monthly webinar, held on July 23rd, 2020, featured Astrid Fidelia, CEO of Stand Up to Poverty Inc. and hero of the March 2020 medical mission to Haiti (see report). Stand Up to Poverty is one of our Global Friends and provides vital services to the most poverty-stricken and vulnerable communities. Astrid’s energy and passion for helping those most in need, and for educating and empowering the next generation, are absolutely irrepressible.

“Love is kind. If you come back to the meaning of love, love is kind. It’s patient. It doesn’t boast; it doesn’t envy. So, when you come back to this, then you show the love in you to the rest of the world, and you share it in families, and you lift them up, you build people up. It’s all about being kind and loving and neighborly.” - Astrid Fidelia

Her words of inspiration are backed up by an unmistakable faith in God and the goodness of humankind, and she has a wealth of experience in strategic and sustainable peacebuilding. This talk with Astrid was a powerful testament to the power of a woman’s heart of caring!

“We all know that God loves diversity. Otherwise He would not have created people differently. He would not have made flowers different colors, different trees, different leaves, different everything! So the Lord loves colors and diversity, and we have to embrace what the Lord loves.” - Astrid Fidelia
