LOOKING BACK AT 2021- A Year of Transitions and Transformations
Greetings in this New Year 2022!!
In spite of continued Covid restrictions, new variants of pathogens and nationwide disasters here in the United States, we were able to continue to educate women (and men) from the global to the local levels. Our national leadership team grew together more closely in heart and action, and many new initiatives evolved. Most of all, I would like to note that our women in the field have united in support for each other, as they continue to serve and invest themselves continuously and selflessly to put the vision of WFWP into action—bringing hope, healing and upliftment to establish a world of peace. This will also continue in this coming year of 2022.
We are especially pleased to have been able to support our Founder Dr. Hak Ja Han Moon’s great concern and effort in bringing about a “A Unified Korea” through our successful online speaker forum series of the Global Women’s Peace Network, in collaboration with our GWPN partners in Korea and Japan.
Nationally and regionally we reached out to wonderful new women leaders of various sectors of society through our GWPN programs such as the “Tea with Intention”, the Filipino Buhay Buhay Sa Amerika TV show, and the HerStory Award, given to women who accomplished extraordinary things based on an amazing story of overcoming obstacles.
We are proud to have created and launched a new educational track, a curriculum called “Cornerstone for Peace” introducing a new view and paradigm on Marriage and Family which sparked new interest among our subscribers and friends and holds great promise to expand in the next few years. .
We continued to support our ongoing humanitarian projects, such as the Schools of Africa, the Jordan Project and also the 1% Love Share Project, which sends funds to North Korean defectors living in South Korea.
Our relationship with our neighbor Canada continued throughout the year under the leadership of WFWP Canada President Lilly Tadin with whom we conducted international, national and regional speaker forums on Family and Interfaith which impacted on the North American continent.
All in all, we are so very grateful to share with you some of the fruits of 2021 in this brief summary report below, covering the Global Women’s Peace Network, Education, Outreach and Service efforts, put together for you with the commitment to build on last year's success and open up a whole new level of development in 2022 and beyond!
With warm regards,
Angelika Selle
