Celebrating WFWP’s 30th Anniversary with Tea and with Intention

“Tea with Intention” is a Global Women’s Peace Network (GWPN) Arizona initiative that began in December 2019 when the pandemic limited (or eliminated) opportunities to meet in person. They continued to be held virtually throughout 2020 and 2021 each month. Now that pandemic is somewhat subsiding, we are alternating virtual and in-person meetings for 2022. Our April 27 virtual meeting was attended by ten engaging women.

Our “Tea with Intention” began as a “Power Tea” in December 2019.  After hearing Glenda Lambert’s childhood story of how she would observe her grandmother gathering the neighbor ladies for tea, she noticed there was always an intention to the tea so we changed the name to “Tea with Intention.”

After reading “Mother of Peace” by Hak Ja Han Moon, we could understand all the grit that transpired and was needed for Mother and Father Moon to get beyond unimaginable hurdles to achieve their goals of peace and unity. Everyone has a story of grit to tell and by telling it, others are inspired. Sometimes you just have to “dig deep” to find your story. That’s the format we use!

We decided to honor the 30th Anniversary of the WFWP by inviting WFWP USA President Angelika Selle, and WFWP USA President Katarina Connery to share with us about their personal and professional journeys. Everyone related to segments of their life story: the struggles they had to overcome, lessons learned, and healing and connections made by living with a motherly heart.

Below are the experiences of the some of the participants:

“The celebration of the 30th anniversary of WFWP really moved me. It wasn't only inspirational, but it helped me to reflect and take action on my own self. As a woman, I am powerful beyond what I think. I have instilled in me a beautiful heart by our Heavenly Parent that I can continue to cultivate among other wonderful women who empower me. I especially enjoyed the stories from both speakers, and one that stood out to me was from President Angelika, and her kind statement with her daughter, when she (her daughter) asked her to do certain things differently, Angelica said: "hey, I can change, why not!" I think that is the best approach to life and relationships; being firm in your love but fluid in your ways so that we can be humble and able to grow. Thank you again for this incredible celebration of 30 years of women empowering women.”  —Romina Toska

“From the stories shared by our National Leaders, the expression of a mother’s love as being mostly passive, patient, agreeable, and permissive, now has a totally new meaning for me. A Mother's LOVE is also fierce, undaunted, and forever aligned with generational expansiveness—an indomitable spirit that ushers in the untethered strength that lies within our individual vulnerability. A Mother's love is the essence of humanity!”Susan Taffer

We closed the meeting with sparkles, lit up cupcakes and smiles.

"I thoroughly enjoyed meeting our more global representatives of our group. Their personal and heartwarming stories brought a lot of insight to why we are all here together. Peace is not a one-person effort, though it does start there. There is no "I" in Team, and seeing ours, globally encourages new action in me. I asked what we can do as a group, and the reply was to foster a project. I totally agree and look forward to new actions on the horizon. Thank you for sharing your stories and visions. It brightens our drive to increase love, prosperity and peace globally." —Jaclyn "Jacque" Zoccoli

“At the Tea with Intention two amazing speakers, respectively President Angelika Selle and VP Katarina Connery, shared their heart, conviction, and dedication to create a beautiful and safe world for our families. I loved that an intergenerational duo shared because it is so refreshing to hear both beautiful and enlightened stories. If you haven't done so, please take a wonderful friend for coffee and share the Good News what the WFWP is doing nationally and globally to create a CULTURE of LOVE.”  —Glenda Lambert

We would like to invite you to the next Tea with Intention. Keep an eye out at WFWP events to sign up for future online or in-person gatherings!
