21ST ASSEMBLY FEEDBACK - JENNIFER JEAN
I’m so grateful I had this opportunity to support True Mother’s most imperative initiative—the wonderful Women’s Federation for World Peace! I’m very happy that I could contribute to this national level conference. Thank you WFWP for putting together such an inspiring and inspired event. From the excellent accommodations for the featured panelists, to my amazing fellow panelists, to the perfect University of Maryland venue—I’d say that the conference went off without a hitch. I had lots of laughs and intimate discussions with my roommate, panelist Katherine Duncan, who became a fast friend. Then at the conference itself, the warmth of the volunteers and the leadership, including Lena Yasutake and Angelika Selle, made my task on stage easier. My hope was to utilize my personal history, especially God’s influence on my creative life, to show the possibility of healing familial wounds, and to touch the hearts of the audience in order to foment lasting change. Thank you for letting me know the audience feedback was positive! I did hear from many people after the panel was finished—which was very moving. I only wish I had prepared better and had brought more of my books—I didn’t know that the women would be eager to have a take-away in the form of a book to give to their friends or younger relatives. I understand now that they wanted this take-away in order to share with others their deep experience at the conference. To me it says a lot about the WFWP program that the women want to go home and share, even take action, based on what they learned and experienced at the conference. Thank you again—I hope to work closely with WFWP, both locally and nationally, in the future.
