CONGRATULATORY REMARKS BY MRS. GAYLE ANDERSON, CHIEF OF DIPLOMATIC RELATIONS AND PROTOCOL, NV GOVERNOR'S OFFICE
On behalf of the Office of the Governor of Nevada, I would like to welcome Dr. Hak Ja Han Moon, and her family, back to Las Vegas. I am sure it must be a special time of reflection for her, with the passing so recently of her beloved husband, the Rev. Sun Myung Moon.
I also would like to congratulate Dr. Moon on the success of the 20th Anniversary of the Women's Federation for World Peace, an NGO of General Consultative Status with the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations. WFWP is established in over 122 nations with 40 chapters in the USA. We are happy that Las Vegas is one of those chapters!
I have enjoyed the visits to my office on several occasions, of Mrs. Angelika Selle, the National President of WFWP, and also Mrs. Pamela Stein, the WFWP Chairwoman for Las Vegas.
You must admit: it is an extraordinary achievement for a mother, and as well a grandmother, to pioneer a new global women's movement in a short 20-year period!
Dr. Moon, you are an inspiration to so many women worldwide, modeling a more nurturing way of leadership, one that embodies compassion, love and righteousness.
The WFWP "living for others through the logic of love" is truly a powerful concept, and yet for we woman it makes perfect sense!
It is exciting to think that women leaders from local communities globally, to the official legislative levels and even heads of state will join together and effectively address our current social issues head-on and hands-on, bringing transformation that can heal families and realize world peace at last. Your vision that women have the power to do this is truly inspirational.
