HEALTHY KIDS, HAPPY HOME: FAMILIES BOND AND LEARN ABOUT ORAL HYGIENE WITH WFWP CT
Going to the dentist and learning about how to brush your teeth became fun for the kids who joined the Healthy Kids, Happy Home program on April 10, 2018. For the second time, WFWP CT collaborated with the Family and Economic Security Program at Housatonic Community College in Bridgeport, CT to provide an enriching program for families to learn and bond. This time the theme was dental hygiene.
After hearing an informative presentation from All Kids Dental, the kids demonstrated their knowledge of foods that are good and bad for your teeth and practiced how to brush properly. Many were eager to share how they brush every day and ask questions about how to keep their teeth strong and healthy. A surprise visitor, the Tooth Fairy, and her assistant, also flew in to play a game with everyone after which the kids received stickers and goodie bags with toothbrushes and toothpaste.
WFWP CT is grateful for the opportunity to serve local families by providing something fun and informative for their children. Though the kids were smiling and happy, the bigger smiles were on the faces of the parents when seeing their children enjoying themselves. One of the presenters expressed how encouraged she was to see such programs happening and that if she had known of their existence when she was a single mother and student, it would have made life much easier.
Please enjoy a few photos of the program below. Kids also went home with a brand new book to read with their parents and families, which were generously donated by the members of WFWP CT.
