CHRISTMAS TEA
This was our December 2010 program:" Christmas Tea from Around the World" in Denver, Co. We had a nice turnout. Everyone brought a dish from their country that exemplified Christmas tradition for their social or ethnic background. We each had a chance to share Christmas memories and traditions from our childhood. We closed the program with a birthday cake for Jesus and the singing of "Silent Night" by candlelight.
We opened the evening by sharing the principles and vision of WFWP/WIM, and included a brief video excerpt of Alexa Ward sharing that it is in the family that we learn and practice living for the sake of others. And it is in that very closeness of living that we show daily our true selves- we cannot hide from our family- the good and the bad manifests itself so clearly. And it is our family that has the final word on what kind of a person each of us truly is.
The participants were moved by the content and reflected on their own family dynamics. Everyone left uplifted in spirit.
