HEALING OURSELVES, HEALING OUR WORLD: HEALTH & WELLNESS FAIR IN ATLANTA, GA

Inspired by the idea that through, “healing ourselves, we can heal our world,” members of WFWP Georgia reached out to people in the nearby community involved in all aspects of health and healing to share this message. On Saturday, July 14th, everyone came together at the Atlanta Family Church fellowship hall to hold a Health & Wellness Fair. There were fifty vendors; WFWP members, and guests enjoying networking and educating themselves about various health products and practices to the soothing rhythm of African drums.

Vendors’ focus ranged from Reiki & Qigong healing to mindful meditation, health insurance, foot detox, vegan cookbooks, healthy teas, dental hygiene, Atomy skin care and more. Each vendor donated an item to our raffle baskets and all participants received a raffle ticket as part of their entrance fee.

During the program portion of the event, we proudly introduced WFWP through a short video of the international work, talked about our local chapter, held the raffle drawing, and introduced Friends of WFWP. Guests and vendors were excited to network and share and asked how often we hold this event. A number of attendees filled out the “Become A Friend” form. One woman said that she is the Health Chairwoman for her church and she has been looking for something to revitalize their program. She is very excited to collaborate together with WFWP in the future. All the participants left with an enriched appreciation for the power of healing. In the words of Rumi, “The wound is the place where the Light enters you.” Though we may have been brought together by pain, through the healing process we can build ourselves better and brighter than ever before.
