LIVING BY THE LOGIC OF LOVE

National President Angelika Selle and Vice President Juanita Pierre-Louis Share WFWP's New Paradigm with Atlanta, Ga.

The national team was welcomed at breakfast by some of our dearest and closest friends. Celeste Koshida, Georgia co-chair, began the breakfast by introducing the core staff: Co-Chair Ekaette Heyliger and Education Coordinator Nandi Moton. Sitting at the head table with President Angelika Selle and Juanita Pierre-Louis was Dr. Uwa Osimiri, founder of the African Women's Economic Consortium and a member of the WFWP USA National Advisory Board

After most of the guests had finished eating, everyone had a chance to introduce herself and say a few words so our guests from national headquarters could get to know them a little. Above left, (note: this section refers to pictures that will be included in the newsleter-UG) Rev. Dr. Babs Olusegun Onabanjo, of the A.D. King Foundation, a conflict resolution organization, is introducing Naomi King, the widow of the Rev. Dr. A.D. King. On the right is Rena Murroquin, who was instrumental in helping us to organize the benefits for WFWP's Schools of Africa back in 2006 and 2007.

Standing above is Carolyn Parker, founder of Taste and See Ministries. She is an Ambassador for Peace with the Universal Peace Federation, and was one of the few Ambassadors for Peace who, in 2006, took two months out of her life to travel around the world speaking on sustainable peace. Next to her in white is former State Senator and news anchor Steen Miles. Finally, President Selle shared with the guests her vision and hope for the Georgia chapter. All responded that they are ready to work together with Women's Federation to do great things for peace and reconciliation in Atlanta.

The main program began with a welcome from the hosts of the day's event, Pastors Clifford and Tiffanie Gaines of the Atlanta Family Church in Ellenwood, Ga. After a beautiful rendition of the Lord's Prayer and a heavenly dance, President Selle took the stage. She spoke about the new paradigm of women's leadership, which emphasizes interdependence and teamwork. She emphasized that we each need to find our strengths and use them toward our goal of healing and unity.

After she spoke, WFWP Atlanta showed our appreciation with a flower presentation by her old friend, Mrs. Bofenda Scroggins.

Above, Vice President Juanita Pierre-Louis shares with us the many ways we can heal ourselves so that we will have the strength to in turn heal our families and communities. Above right is a picture of our good friend Georgia State Senator Donzella James, who felt so sorry she couldn't make it that she called in and gave greetings over the phone. The love was flowing from every direction!

There was an atmosphere of joy after the program finished. A lucky few received free massages from a local massage therapist, Carol Thomas, who brought her massage chair. The afternoon finished with a wonderful lunch prepared by our WFWP Georgia members. Thank you all!
