HOLIDAY PARTY FOR PEACE
The Minnesota chapter of WFWP collaborated with the local chapters of the American Clergy Leadership Conference (ACLC), Universal Peace Federation (UPF), and the Family Federation for World Peace and Unification Youth Group to generate a festive holiday party on December 6.
When organizations with different focuses come together for a common cause, it is more effective and leaves a greater impact for all who attend. Many of the attendees this time were younger women and men who were interested in finding out about WFWP and the other organizations present.
WFWP Minnesota Chairwoman Mrs. Jeannette Henry gave introductory remarks and a summary of WFWP's thriving past and more recent projects and events. Mr. Bruno Borer, who is the local head of ACLC, outlined ACLC activities, stressing the importance of God in all religions, and that, regardless of our religion or lack of such, we are all one family under God. Then Mr. Ben Pehling, a local youth pastor, gave a review of several projects and amusing outings that had taken place in 2014.
At this meeting, WFWP announced an addition to the Minnesota team. Ms. Denise To was introduced as the new co-chairwoman. She expressed how enthusiastic she feels about substantially implementing the directive to attract a younger age group of women into the heart of WFWP.
Then came entertainment, including Japanese performances and a self-defense demonstration from black-belt holder Mr. Borer. Finally, the morning concluded with a nice lunch and a great chance for social networking. Collaboration among different organizations with the ultimate goal of peace makes celebrating the holidays a chance to substantiate peace.
