Dr. Dixon receiving a past award from WFWP

Representatives from the New Jersey chapter of WFWP were honored to attend the memorial service for the passing of Dr. Jesse M. Dixon. Dr. Dixon, a former councilwoman-at-large, was an Ambassador for Peace who was given the Crown of Peace Award for all the work she did for her community and beyond.

She was the founder of five prominent organizations in the city of Paterson, New Jersey. Through her exemplary life, many people learned how to serve others. Dr. Dixon was a vigilant woman who cared for those around her. She was a giver who understood the needs of others and served them with compassion and an open heart. She was a humble and true woman of God.

In 2001, WFWP New Jersey developed a strong relationship with Dr. Dixon and her organizations. She hosted several events on behalf of Rev. Dr. Sun Myung Moon and Dr. Hak Ja Han Moon. One such event was held in the Paterson City Hall while she was still a councilwoman. At that event, she proudly acknowledged the WFWP founders and their accomplishments toward world peace.

She attended many WFWP conferences in the United Nations and in other states throughout the country. At her conferences and events, she would always recognize WFWP members and always invite us to speak.

Dr. Dixon's love for her community and others was reflected at her memorial service, where more than 1,000 people were in attendance. Among the attendees were senators, congressmen, councilmen and women, law enforcement officials, ministers, and other dignitaries.

During the service, WFWP was honored to speak and read a letter from our national headquarters written by our president, Mrs. Angelika Selle. The letter expressed condolences to the family as well as gratitude to Dr. Dixon for her love of WFWP. The WFWP regional chapter of New Jersey sent a beautiful arrangement of flowers, and several members were in attendance. Dr. Dixon will always be remembered and have a special place in the heart of WFWP.
