WOMEN MAKING A DIFFERENCE: WFWP NJ HONORS INFLUENTIAL WOMEN

WFWP New Jersey is blessed with very creative and hard working women. On Sunday, February 25, the WFWP Hackensack chapter had a meeting to hear from two such women, Dr. Pallavi and Mrs. Marguerite Dabis. There were 13 other attendees at the luncheon.

Dr. Pallavi worked as a dentist in India, often seeing patients for free if they could not afford it. She loved her work there and showed us the correct way to brush teeth, brushing from top to bottom, and rinsing the mouth after brushing with mouthwash. She said ideally one should brush three times a day for two minutes time. She answered questions from the attendees about their own situations.

Mrs. Marguerite Dabis, one of the founders of Australia’s WFWP chapter shared stories about Ayaan Hirsi Ali, Northern Ireland’s Women’s Coalition, and Malala Yousafzai from Afghanistan. These women did not want to succumb to injustice but rather turned their pain into a trigger to do good for others. They could have sat at home and felt sorry for themselves and wallowed in pity, but instead they educated themselves to fight for human rights, country peace, and women’s education.

Attendees also announced their own programs they were having and invited others.
