NEW YEAR, NEW BEGINNINGS: CONSTRUCTION UNDERWAY AT LUNIS KINDERWORLD

A new year often signals time for fresh starts and new beginnings. One place that is certainly looking forward to new beginnings in 2018 is Lunis Kinderworld, located in rural Nepal. Last year, WFWP members, supporters, and many generous donors (including you!) raised over $19,000 to help build the new facilities they so desperately need.

This kindergarten/pre-k, which places heavy emphasis on positive reinforcement and making learning enjoyable for kids, has been operating out of the principal’s home for the past few years. Space has been limited and inadequately equipped for learning. However, now thanks to many of you, the children, parents, and teachers have much to look forward to.

Construction is well underway! After a groundbreaking ceremony last October with community leaders and parents, they have begun laying the foundation for the new school, with the bricks, cement, and metal beams purchased by all of us.

With the new building, they will be able to continue to offer the kind of education that parents have seen to transform their children. Lunis Kinderworld will also be able to expand and welcome even more families to an alternative to the expensive private schools and overcrowded public schools in the area.
