CONGRATULATIONS CARMELLA!

First, I want to let you know that our hard-working Carmella Ciemny who has been working with WFWP for the last two years has officially received the title of NOVA WFWP co-chairwoman.

Moreover, Carmella recently received an award for her volunteer work representing WFWP from the Lake Ridge Fellowship House, an independent living residence for low income senior citizens, some with physical disabilities or limitations.

Here is her testimony: "An award ceremony took place at the Lake Ridge Fellowship House in Woodbridge, Virginia on Friday, April 15. This was the first time they had an award ceremony in over thirty years. They invited me to come. My husband Jerry and my good friend Laurel Gooden accompanied me. I was very surprised when asked to sit at the front table.

We were served lunch catered by Chik-Fil-A. After we ate, Susan Hoffler Goodman, the administrator, passed out awards and certificates. I was the first to be called up, and was presented a Certificate of Appreciation for being the Lake Ridge Fellowship House Volunteer of the Year. She praised WFWP for our service there. She said that no other volunteer group that has visited had ignited such a happy, excited response from the residents as our group has.

We all had a joyful time. I was very grateful and proud of all our Northern Virginia members who took the time to serve this community!
