STRAWBERRIES IN MEYER LEMON SYRUP RECIPE

Spring is finally here and what better way to start the season than with a simple, yet delicious treat? Mixed with a little bit of raw sugar, a bit of lemon juice, and some whipped cream, this ‘strawberries in a bowl’ recipe will satisfy your taste buds in no time! My mother would often serve this recipe as an appetizer for family gatherings, but it could also be used for any special occasion such as a birthday party.

INGREDIENTS

  • 4 cups small strawberries quartered

  • 1/4 cup fresh Meyer lemon juice

  • 1/4 cup raw sugar

  • 1/4 cup whipping cream

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Place berries, juice, and raw sugar in a large bowl; toss gently to coat. Cover and chill 20 minutes.

  2. Place cream in a medium bowl; stir constantly with a whisk until soft peaks form. Serve whipped cream with berry mixture.
