TRAIL OF TEARS PRAYER CONFERENCE CALL: JUNE 12 @ 9 PM EST

Dear friends,

The time has come, and the Trail of Tears Prayer Journey is about to be launched. In fact, the group of women and men - Peacemakers for Sacred Healing - who initiated this journey of the heart already left early yesterday morning from their homes to travel to Calhoun, Ga., where the 1,000-Mile Pilgrimage of Healing will begin.

Briefly, the 10 participants will retrace one of the routes of the Cherokee 1836-38 "Trail of Tears" - in the spirit of offering, healing, and reconciliation. The prayer pilgrimage - which marks the 175th anniversary of the "Trail of Tears" - will be kicked off tomorrow, Saturday, June 8, at 9 a.m. at New Echota (near Calhoun, Ga.), the historic site of the former Capital of the Cherokee Nation.  The tour will conclude with a Powwow at Tahlequah, Okla., the new Capital of the Cherokee Nation, on Saturday, June 15.

Anyone is invited to join in and also hear from participants on the trail, as they will attempt to come on the call with us. More details to be announced.

 The proceeds will be given to the Native American tribes along the way as a substantial sign of repentance and new beginnings between the Whites and the Indigenous people of this beautiful country of America.
