In line with WFWP’s goals to empower women to build strong, healthy families and relationships the local Westchester chapter hosted “Natural Womanhood” on June 10th at the beautiful Main House venue in Tarrytown, NY. The ladies of WFWP, Universal Peace Federation (UPF) and World Youth Alliance (WYA) enjoyed working together to sponsor this valuable program.

Weronika Janczuk (pronounced Veronica), the regional education director for the World Youth Alliance, presented “Understand your Body & Chart your Health” session one of the Fertility Education & Medical Management (FEMM) series. In a revolutionary way, backed up by the latest in scientific research and principles, Weronika explained the connection between reproductive health and the health of the entire body.  “Reproductive health is a window into our general wellbeing” she said. Hormonal imbalances and insufficient levels may cause women to experience weight gain, pain, depression, infertility, anemia, PMS, acne and other serious conditions.

The two hour program was attended by an equal mix of about 25 younger and older women. There were lively discussions and opportunities for questions and answers. Several young ladies were surprised to learn that painful periods are not normal but a symptom of an underlying condition that can be improved and managed in a natural way. “I wish this could be taught in High School instead of sex education” exclaimed one young lady. An older mother said “I wish I could have been educated about this many years ago. Perhaps I could have avoided the painful and sad experience of losing a baby.”

Several were perplexed that medical doctors seem to spend little time on female issues or concerns. Weronika reassured the audience that there has been exciting outreach worldwide to the medical community. In parts of the world where cultures and traditions have suppressed female healthcare for centuries, this education has helped thousands of women suffering unnecessarily. There is now more interest and research into reproductive health than ever before.

The final part of the presentation included a review of biomarkers that all women can recognize, and how women can chart their own cycles and health. The urgency of this new understanding is that women can be more aware of their own health, and that problems caused by hormonal imbalances can be healed. The program provided a detailed understanding of how the female body works, as well as the male, so all can become informed participants in our own healthcare.

In the end several expressed that they would like to share this with their friends and that they were looking forward to going to the next level of medical management in the near future.
