TAKING UP THE TORCH: WFWP WISCONSIN WELCOMES WFWP USA ADMINISTRATOR TO LEADERSHIP OF THE HEART EVENT
WFWP USA Administrator Ms. Kiyomi Schmidt came from WFWP Headquarters in New York and presented a powerful seminar entitled "Leadership of the Heart" in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on Saturday, December 2, 2017. She introduced “Leadership of the Heart” and delivered a seminar on Session 2: Self-Worth and Vision. Chairwoman of the local chapter, Mrs. Veronica Ferch, was inspired to invite Ms. Schmidt to come to Wisconsin as a means to connect younger women with the vision of WFWP. Be it as parent, teacher, pastor, or elder, we are always seeking ways to bequeath to others the values and understanding and wealth that we have accumulated. Ms. Schmidt brought a freshness and vitality to the understanding of what the WFWP vision and mission are as she shared about the "Leadership of the Heart.”
Packaging makes a difference to how information can be received. Youth, vigour, charm, and strength with gentleness made the material palatable, understandable, and attractive to the young women as well as all others who were present.
Having been privileged to attend this event, I encourage all chapters of WFWP USA to host similar events with goals of communicating and sharing the vision and mission of WFWP and connecting the hearts and minds of young women nationwide with what WFWP Founder, Dr. Hak Ja Han Moon, has encapsulated as "the Logic of Love.” Therein lies a rallying cry for the movement of women to bring the human family to understand that the role for world peace is in the hands and hearts of the women of the world. The vision of peace is brought closer to reality when the women of the world are engaged in working together on practical steps, such as humanitarian projects in the arts, education, media, and service.
We express our grateful appreciation to Ms. Schmidt for coming to her home state! I encourage WFWP chapters nationwide to invite such young speakers to their events, to inspire other young women to become peacemakers together.
Thoughts/quotes from newcomers:
“I learned a lot more about WFWP. I liked the passion activity and self-child activity! It helped to focus on me and making it applicable in my life.”
“I didn’t know much about WFWP previously. I loved the idea of the purse drive- it was so simple. Would like to see other ideas like that, which could be implemented in nearly any community.”
“I enjoyed learning more about what WFWP stands for and the principles behind it. The agenda was manageable, with a break, discussion, and reflection. It felt like a self-care seminar."
