Dear friend,

Wishing all fathers a very happy and joyful FATHER'S DAY 2018!

As much as Women's Federation for World Peace is empowering and equipping women and mothers to become "Leaders of the Heart," we also appreciate, uplift, and honor our men -- husbands, fathers, brothers, sons, and grandfathers -- as the "other aspect" of God's divine creation.

Truly, without the loyal, steady, and unwavering support of my own husband, Robert (Bob) Selle, I would not have been able to do much work for Women's Federation. The same is true for our staff members and chairwomen, whose husbands are in full support of the work we are doing and are even cheering us on!

In order to create peace, starting in the family, we need both a mother and a father who nurture their children with love, the fatherly love being different from the motherly love, but just as much needed. The only problem sometimes is, we husbands and wives often don't quite know how to relate to or "dance" with each other. To offer a few helpful hints in this regard, our Colorado Chairwomen, Shirley Chimes and Gale Alves, have put together some practical pointers. The more we learn how to "dance" together, the more our children will benefit as well.

When it comes right down to it, it's all about the "tango" of unconditional love. As the late Father Theodore Hesburgh, former President of the University of Notre Dame, put it: "The most important thing a father can do for his children is to love their mother." And I would say that the opposite holds true as well: The most important thing a mother can do for her children is to love their father.

Here is to all our wonderful fathers, husbands, and grandfathers!

To you we express our gratitude, love, and respect on this Father's Day 2018 and beyond!

With love,

Angelika Selle
