PRESIDENT'S CORNER
Dear friend,
We hope summertime is going well for you and your family, and that you take the opportunity to spend precious moments together!
With this first August edition, I would like to also welcome many who have recently "Become a Friend" of WFWP USA, either through our website (www.wfwp.us) or by personal invitation. We continue our outreach in this month of August, which is officially declared the "Month for Friendship."
What is a friend -- a true friend? Indeed, a true friend is a rare treasure to have. In my land of origin, Germany/Austria, there are many songs dedicated to "true friendship," which is also considered a high virtue.
A true friend is someone you can trust and who trusts you, who will never betray you, who has "got your back" and has your best interest in mind. A true friend will always tell you the truth, and be honest, even when it might be painful. A true friend will be there for you when you need him or her.
It is not easy to find such friends these days. One reason is, it takes a lot of commitment, time, and sometimes sacrifice, which are values that are not very much promoted in today's society. Yet, true friendship is possible. How? As our co-founder of WFWP, the late Rev. Dr. Sun Myung Moon, advised some newly married couples, "If you want an ideal spouse, BE ONE." That also applies to true friendship: "If you want a true friend, BE ONE."
I would like to give our readers, including myself, the challenge to "be a true friend" to someone, and even though that someone might not respond, to never give up, until a true friend is found. We can begin right with our own family. Wouldn't it be great if our spouse and our children could be our true friends? I am happy to say that my husband Bob is also my best friend. Working on our children...WFWP USA honors and values your friendship, and we are committed to being loyal friends to you as well.
Here is to true friendship!
Sincerely,
Angelika Selle
