PRESIDENT'S CORNER (JUNE '16)

Dear Friend,

Happy summer to you! We hope you had a wonderful Father's Day!

As we come to the end of this first half of 2016, and as we reflect on these last few months, we see that a flurry of events and activities took place in WFWP USA.

Just to mention a few highlights:

* There was the visit of our dear founder, Dr. Hak Ja Han Moon, and our international president, Professor Yeon Ah Moon, in New York at the beginning of June.
* Our Schools of Africa project, under the capable leadership of Fannie Smith, in June reached its goal of raising $50,000! Congratulations to our Schools of Africa national director, Fannie, and to all chapters that participated!
* We launched our monthly national educational webinars, facilitated by WFWP USA Vice President Katarina Connery.
* Several successful "Purse Projects," collecting gently used handbags to distribute at women's shelters, were completed, in Arizona, Maryland, Virginia, and New Jersey.
* There were multiple events around the country celebrating Women's History Month and then Mother's Day.
* The Educational Curriculum Committee made considerable headway in developing a WFWP USA educational curriculum based on the philosophy and principles of peace that are unique to our organization.
* In Washington, D.C., we launched a "Discover the Leader Within: Leadership of the Heart" consciousness-raising seminar series.
* Last but not least, we are currently in the annual MEMBERSHIP DRIVE and RENEWALS time period.

Every one of your financial contributions makes all of the above and so much more possible! You, our valued subscriber, indeed provides the "bread and butter" or the oil that allows our operations to continue, to run smoothly, and to expand, especially in the area of training and empowering women, in particular young women, as peace leaders for the future.

If you feel these are worthwhile goals and activities, sign up for or renew your membership, and please do invite your family, friends, neighbors, and associates to join in supporting these efforts. And remember -- men, husbands, fathers, brothers, and sons -- are also welcome as members in our Federation, as are students 18 years of age and older.

We honor our men and fathers, wishing them once again a happy Father's Day -- all year round!
