WOMEN TO BRING ABOUT PEACE IN THE 21ST CENTURY
INAUGURATION OF THE ABEL WOMEN UNITED NATIONS, ALSO KNOWN AS THE GLOBAL WOMEN’S PEACE NETWORK
As God works in mysterious ways, the Founders of our WFWP International are calling on women globally to come together and create a new and dynamic body, guided by spiritual and universal principles, to build genuine world peace. The Founders are acting with an understanding of the seriousness of the time we live in and the desperate need for substantial peace, which can only be brought by creatively addressing pressing social issues and providing practical solutions.
Therefore, they urgently invited WFWP officers and members worldwide to come to the Chong Shim Stadium in Chung Pyung, north of Seoul, Korea, on July 16, 2012, to launch the Global Women’s Peace Network, internally known as the “Abel Women UN.” Some 25,000 women, men and children filled the newly built stadium to the top. Down on the ground level, our WFWP officers were seated according to their nations, sitting on chairs at tables clothed in white, which created a very festive ambiance.
The audience was entertained and informed via a 30-minute video presentation about the amazing multitude of WFWP activities over the last 20 years, which have made an impact in 193 countries. After a gracious welcome by Dr. Lan Young Moon, and congratulatory remarks from Mrs. Kuboki and Dr. Thomas Walsh of UPF, the founders, Father and Mother Moon, entered the stage. Just shortly before, they had stepped off the airplane, coming from Las Vegas, and immediately come to Chung Pyung,
The International Vice President, Professor Yeon Ah Choi, and the USA Vice President International, Mrs. Angelika Selle, presented flowers to the still vibrant-looking couple, as everyone cheered them with joy and enthusiasm.
Then Father Moon himself took the stage, and welcomed all present, sharing from his heart before delivering the main address. He stated repeatedly that the UN has not fulfilled its promise thus far to ensure peace in the world. In fact, things have grown worse than ever. Moreover, since men have not been able to bring the hoped-for peace thus far, it is high time for women to play a more central role in influencing the affairs of the family, policy making, etc.
He asked the women present in the stadium to support his wife, Dr. Hak Ja Han Moon, in creating this Global Women Peace Network and bring about the tipping point for the better in the world.
Then there was a standing ovation as the founders were presented with a big gong, and Father Moon, with a big smile, rang the going several times and then threw the handle into the audience. Mother then did the same with a big smile, as members of their family -- Dr. Kook Jin Moon, International President Rev Hyung Jin Moon and Rev. In Jin Moon surrounded them.
That concluded the very meaningful and hopeful evening. There was a certain joy in the air, and a freshness that inspired all.
What is the Abel UN or the Global Women Peace Network? you might ask.
In a nutshell, it is a unified body of women of all cultures, religions, nations and ages, networking and working together in harmony for the realization of peace, from the individual to the global level.
In a more personal speech the next day, Father Moon asked the women who live at this time in history to leave behind old ways of thinking and acting (since they didn’t work in bringing peace) and adapt themselves to thinking and acting based on universal, God-centered principles, which bear the key for real and lasting change for the better.
Two representatives of each nation were chosen to jump-start this effort, and more information and clarity will be provided as we move on. Ideally, one woman leader representing WFWP and a woman of another organization in society would work together in harmony and then expand from there.
A special training and workshop was provided for families and leadership right after the inauguration to study the Original Divine Principles, which will serve as the basis and guidelines of this project.
Given these latest developments, WFWP USA has decided to launch the Global Women Peace Network in the United States at the occasion of the 20th anniversary celebration in Las Vegas, from October 25-27, where our Founder, Dr. Hak Ja Han Moon, herself will speak.
Ladies and gentlemen (and oh yes, we do need gentlemen’s help), it is time to stand up and speak out for God and godly values, which once were the backbone of our families and society and which have been brushed aside and trampled upon. It is time for the women -- women of spirituality and conscience -- to be the agents of change and to open up a new paradigm of leadership and compassion that will save our families, children and this beautiful planet before we destroy ourselves.
I’m inviting you the become a part of the “Turning Point “ Global Women Peace Network Assembly in Las Vegas. Preregister online at www.wfwp.us/20th today!
As Mahatma Ghandi said a few decades ago: “If you want change, be the change!” Women, let us be the change at this time!
