On behalf of the Women’s Federation for World Peace (WFWP) USA, it is our great pleasure to invite you to the second international Global Women’s Peace Network forum, which we are hosting alongside our WFWP counterparts in Korea and Japan.
This virtual program will address the topic of “A Unified Korea: Rising Above Challenges,” which is part of the Women’s Leadership in Reconciliation and Peacemaking series, and will take place on November 8th, 2021, from 7:30 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. EST. The principal language of the program will be in Korean, with live interpretation available in English and Japanese.
During the initial collaborative GWPN forum, we heard from panelists of North Korean descent, in an effort to better understand their unique needs and what might help bridge the gap on the Korean Peninsula. With this in mind, we will now be exploring what it takes to overcome the challenges leading up to a Korean reunification in substance, and possible obstacles to prepare for afterward.
A peaceful reunification of the Korean peninsula is especially close to the hearts of WFWP Co-Founders, Dr. Sun Myung Moon and Mrs. Dr. Hak Ja Han Moon. Having both been born in what is now North Korea, they have passionately pursued unique solutions to bring together their divided homeland, as a substantial vision of hope to the world. The WFWP international community is proud to support these unification efforts through spreading awareness, cultivating solutions, and enacting peacebuilding activities.
We greatly hope you will take part in this meaningful event as an impetus for positive change. To further spread aspirations for peace, consider sharing this invitation with those in your community.
