Norma Adams-Wade
Norma Adams-Wade, a proud Dallas native, is a pioneer in journalism and a dedicated advocate for her community. As one of the 44 founders of the National Association of Black Journalists and the first full-time reporter for *The Dallas Morning News*, she broke barriers and brought vital stories about the Dallas-area African American community to light.
A graduate of Lincoln High School and the University of Texas at Austin, Norma earned her journalism degree and rose to become a senior staff writer before retiring. Her passion extends beyond journalism to civil rights, education, poverty alleviation, and social justice.
A mother, grandmother, and devoted church member, Norma also loves to sing and share her extensive knowledge about Dallas. She continues her storytelling legacy as an award-winning writer and the host of a weekly podcast. Norma Adams-Wade remains a beacon of inspiration and dedication to her craft and community.
