Attorney Shamika Askew
Shamika T. Askew is a licensed attorney in both Michigan and Florida. Since establishing her law firm in 2016, she has focused her practice exclusively on family law and personal injury cases. Originally from Michigan, she now calls Florida home.
Before relocating to Florida, Ms. Askew gained eight years of valuable experience at the Michigan Department of Natural Resources (MDNR). During her tenure, she held various roles, including Legal Policy Analyst and liaison with the Michigan Department of Attorney General’s Office. Her responsibilities included contract compliance, drafting legal documents, responding to discovery requests, and conducting contested case hearings. In Florida, she held contractual positions at different firms, handling a diverse range of litigation matters such as drafting pleadings, discovery, mediation, trial preparation, and representing clients in civil non-jury trials.
Shamika holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Tennessee State University and earned her Juris Doctor from Thomas M. Cooley Law School with a concentration in Litigation. Throughout law school, she honed her advocacy skills through participation in moot court and mock trial competitions.
Beyond her professional endeavors, Attorney Askew is deeply committed to community service. She has volunteered as an Attorney Guardian Ad Litem and mentored at-risk juvenile girls in juvenile facilities.
Recognizing the importance of work-life balance, Ms. Askew values spending quality time with her loved ones, traveling, and unwinding at the beach in her leisure time.
