President’s Corner: A Legacy of Peace and True Love

Dear friends,

As we continue to celebrate this year, to show-and-tell and SHINE the light on WFWP's 30 years of work and ongoing activities and programs for peace, in this particular issue, I would like to highlight one of our pillar projects, our Schools of Africa Project. This is the project that allowed us to acquire the NGO in General Consultative Status with the Economic and Social Council at the UN!

A most remarkable Schools of Africa Benefit and Cultural Program, SHINE AFRICA, just aired last week, highlighting the spirit and heart behind this project as well as the substantial results. There were also some fun parts, like a raffle wheel and most inspiring performances that gave a taste of African cultures. It was a truly uplifting experience; one worthy to share with others and to see again. Click here to watch and/or donate.

This month we also celebrated and commemorated the 10th Anniversary of the passing of WFWP's co-founder, the Rev. Dr. Sun Myung Moon. Like no other spiritual leader, he uplifted and empowered women. In fact, together with his wife in 1992, he proclaimed THE ARRIVAL OF THE ERA OF WOMEN!

The commemoration, which took place on August 14, was most riveting, inspiring and was streamed worldwide under the theme "Let us Meet Father." We will provide a link to the recording of this remarkable program when it becomes available.

Marking this 10th year since Dr. Moon's passing are also many other festivities, programs, and activities, such as a World Summit for Peace with top leaders from around the world and from every sector of society. They will be discussing practical solutions to our global problems. All these events were designed and hosted by Dr. Hak Ja Han Moon, Dr. Moon's wife, who has committed unto her last breath to pursue and fulfill her and her husband's God-given vision and mission to usher in an era of lasting peace. AND SHE IS DOING IT! Therefore, we also congratulate Dr. Hak Ja Han Moon on her tremendous and impressive accomplishments over these last 10 years since her husband's passing! More in the upcoming issue of the Logic of Love News.

I would like to conclude by expressing our deepest gratitude and appreciation and love to our co-founder, Dr. Sun Myung Moon, who left behind a monumental legacy of Peace and True Love (a life lived entirely for the sake of others). Women's Federation for World Peace is part of that legacy.

And here is to lasting peace!

Angelika S.
