CHANGING OF THE GUARD IN COLORADO

Shirley: "As I pass the baton to Gale Alves, I cannot completely close this chapter in my life, because the more I learn about this ever-growing organization, the more I want to know. WFWP has given me a chance to express my joy and be associated with progressive women and supporting men. I cherish the time I have spent being the Chairlady for the Colorado Chapter of WFWP. Best wishes to Gale Alves as she continues with forward-moving ideas and activities."

Gale: "Hi, my name is Gale Alves and I am a transplant from New York state who now resides in Colorado. I am not completely new to Colorado, because I lived in Boulder and Fort Collins in the 80s. Yet still the Mid-Hudson Valley and upstate New York continue to live in my heart.

"I was a co-chairwoman alongside Catherine Ichinohe from 2011-2012 for the Denver chapter. So all of these lovely WFWP ladies are my friends, and we work so well together. We appreciate all that Shirley Chimes did during her leadership time, and we are happy she is still part of the team. Shirley brings great enthusiasm and foresight to our Chapter. She is very in tune with the young women who are on the cusp of transforming WFWP.

"My hobbies are reading, walking with our dog anywhere in nature, antiquing, visiting preserved older homes and mansions, watching old movies with my husband, and enjoying our children--which is not a hobby, but a way of life! I hope to continue steering our Denver chapter toward connecting with many types of people and working toward building many bridges of the heart. We all are enthusiastic about bringing new women into our organization."
