GEORGIA CHAPTER RECEIVES "AGAINST ALL ODDS" AWARD
On Oct 15th at the Emory University Conference Center in Atlanta, AWEC held their 5th annual "Against All Odds" Awards Ceremony. WFWP GA was among the honorees as well one of our ACLC ministers, Dr. Gloria Wright and a woman Senator from Nigeria.
Awec is the African Women Economic Consortium. It is a non-profit 501(C)(3) organization founded in 2002 as an organization of women of diverse social, educational and spiritual backgrounds who have recognized the need for proactive action for change in the lives of women and children locally, nationally and globally.
Their mission is to enrich and empower families through their housing initiative, the Village of Hope.
At the Awards Luncheon AWEC honors persons and organizations who are serving the community and world and bringing incredible results against all odds. The founder, Uwa Osimiri-Irving, a Nigerian business women and spiritual chief, met WFWP in Michigan. She always invites a representative from one of our organizations to honor at her awards event because she loves our movement. I was honored to represent our WFWP at this event. I was able to speak for a few minutes and shared about our Founders’ vision of the dignity of women.
