FORGING ALLIANCES IN PENNSYLVANIA: WFWP PA ATTENDS SUMMER FEST
Core members of the WFWP Pennsylvania chapter attended the Summer Fest, an event sponsored by State Senator Anthony William on Saturday, August 25 at the Nile Swim Club in Yeadon, Pa., a city within Lansdowne County. Exactly 115 people came that day to be part of the community summer program. The festival included many fun activities, including basketball and soccer competitions, a bounce house for smaller kids, swimming, and a health food presentation by the local Democrats.
The six WFWP members who attended appreciated the welcoming spirit of the community, as well as the wonderful recognition of our WFWP team by members of the political party (Democrats). We hope we can use this event as a starting point for building a working relationship with the Democratic Party in order to promote global community through educating and empowering women, centered on the logic and concept of WFWP.
Since WFWP is registered in the Municipality of Lansdowne County as an operating women's organization, we have started receiving frequent invitations that will make us actively involved in local social activities, and we also expect to launch our own future projects and events. All sorts of invitations have been coming from different firms, businesses, government agencies, active youth and adult clubs, committees, and organizations. The goal is to let WFWP be informed and involved, using the invitations as a starting point.
