However, at the center of Joan’s heart and her life, is her love for the Lord Jesus Christ. Joan is a woman with a passion for music and a mission to win souls for Christ.

Joan is the sixth of eight children born to Reverend Egbert and Mrs. Myers. Her musical development began at place called Haddington, in the hills of Hanover, Jamaica. Under the tutelage her mother, Joan and her siblings “The Myers” sang as family group in her church.

Joan began singing professionally in 1982 as member of her local church choir, Holiness Christian Church and in 1986 she was invited to join the gospel group “The Love Singers.” Myers toured with the group extensively laying a foundation for her musical career locally. Myers’ popularity and professionalism grew rapidly. In 1991 she was invited to join Jamaica’s and the Caribbean’s most successful gospel group ‘The Grace Thrillers.’ as one of Jamaica’s International ambassador. She recorded two albums with the Grace Thrillers; ‘Can’t even Walk’, Make us One’ and made videos for three of the albums. Myers’ international career began forming as she toured the Caribbean, Canada, the British Virgin Island, and the United States as a back up and lead vocalist with the Grace thrillers. During her time with the Grace Thrillers, she shared stage with great singers such as Shirley Caesar, The Talley’s, Rev. FC Barnes, Andre Crouch, Jessie Dixon, Monty Alexander, just to name a few. Her now solo career has afforded her the privilege of sharing stages with outstanding musical icons such - Alvin Slaughter, Luther Barnes, Candi Staton, Huntley Brown, Papa San, Judy Mowatt, Carlene Davis as well as Ken Boothe, Morgan Heritage & Leroy Sibbles just to name a few.

She was also an active member of the Inter School Christian Fellowship club.

With ambition to become a Certified Charted Accountant, Myers graduated from Durham Business College with a Diploma in Accounting and was also awarded the Noel Hylton Challenge Cup for Accounting. She successfully completed the Association of Accountants and Technicians examination and pursued further studies for the Association of Certified and Public Accountants.

In 1996, Joan migrated to the United States where she pursued a degree in Accounting at the City University of New York. She was encouraged by Reggae Legend Freddie McGregor to develop her talent. Her brother Benjy Myaz who is also her producer convinced Joan to pursue a solo singing career. In 2000 Joan returned to Jamaica and began to record her solo album “Wanna Be Ur’s” at Freddie McGregor’s his Big Ship Studio. Myers’ solo career took off immediately. Her second album is expected to be released soon.

Joan has an engaging personality, the charisma and talent that attracts people to her. She is self- assured in her unshakable faith and the source of her life, Jesus Christ. Myers believes that God has not called her to a “hall of fame”, but as a strong woman to make Him famous amongst the feeble.” She desires to be who God wants her to be and make herself available to be used by Him.
