Whisper of Mother Earth
Editor’s note: This poem was read by the author at the Midwest launch of the Global Women’s Peace Network in Chicago on October 18, 2019 (read report here).
Could you hear my whisper?
It is holding untold stories of miseries
Cries of angels
Burning screams of woods
Growing fear of unknown
Heartache of lost souls of war
Immense pain of bleeding, divided heart of mine
Listen….
If you could hear my whisper?
Let go the pollution of hate and anger
You all are one
You all are same
You have only one world
You have only one mother
Listen…. Wake up
Yesterday has passed
Let's welcome the new sun of today
Let yourself plant a long lasting friendship
Allow my love to nurture
I can assure you, we can walk into a miraculous tomorrow
Where plants are turning into trees,
Standing firm, tall and strong like a friend
With deep rooted neighboring
Sheltering with kindness
Blossoming with flowers of hope,
brimming with fruits of love & prosperity
Has hedged a path of peace
Please…. Let us watch together
Under the shade of blooming trees
Our nurtured smiling (carefree) children (angels)
With books, pens and colors in their hands
Fear free hearts are filled with joy,
Heads full of dreams
Feet are holding a firm ground
Sparkling eyes are on the skies
Enjoying scented emotions of pure intentions
They are sure, they are bold
They are turning clay into gold
Listen to my whisper
They are respectful, they are aware
Their passionate hearts are open to share
Share love, peace and mother earth
