CREATING NEW OPPORTUNITIES: A GLIMPSE OF THE GLOBAL WOMEN’S PEACE NETWORK
At the WFWP Pre-event to the Madison Square Garden “Peace Starts With Me” program on July 15th, 2017, Ambassador Suzan Johnson Cook blew us away with her positive energy, wide-ranging life experience, and witty, practical advice. Aimmee Kodachian, our WFWP member, friend, and associate from Las Vegas, was in attendance, and took the opportunity to invite Ambassador Johnson Cook as a guest on her tv show, akandtheexperts.com. Ambassador Cook happily agreed, as she already had plans to visit Las Vegas just a few short weeks later.
On August 4th, they taped three segments on “What goes on behind the scenes of a Presidential Advisor’s life.” These segments take a look at Ambassador Suzan Johnson Cook’s humble beginnings, to a successful life and career in Hollywood, Ministry, to serving two of our nation’s Presidents (Bill Clinton and Barack Obama). After taping, Aimmee invited a few of her friends and members of WFWP Las Vegas to have dinner with Ambassador Johnson Cook. They enjoyed each other's company, and shared about the three day cruise seminar to the Bahamas that Ambassador Johnson Cook will be hosting in October, at which Aimmee Kodachian will be a guest speaker!
Also at this dinner, the Las Vegas WFWP leadership team of Mary Hida and Sera Hirano wanted to express their love and appreciation for all that Ambassador Johnson Cook continues to do to uplift and empower women leaders. They gave her a small gift on behalf of the chapter to remember them by, and to feel WFWP’s support wherever she goes.
The gift was a necklace from a friend’s nearby shop that they love, with a meaning especially appropriate for this dear new friend and inspiring lady. The necklace fused the tree of life symbol of healing and prosperity, with the sodalite stone of inner truths, peace and productivity.
Sitting at the table with these thirteen women, we could see WFWP’s hand and ability in bringing dynamic, heartfelt women together. These bonds and connections are needed to discuss and collaborate on a wide range of issues, and to make peace a reality. In reflecting, we realized that we were experiencing a small glimpse of the Global Women’s Peace Network (GWPN), and in fact, this is what it looks like!
