MINNESOTA AND COSTA RICA -- A GOOD PAIR

Dance exhibition

The Minnesota chapter was given a treat when we were introduced to Costa Rican culture through a gathering on October 5, 2013 entitled "Pura Vida" (pure life).

Minnesota and Costa Rica have been paired up to work together through Mrs. Sayuri Seo who worked with WFWP in Minnesota before she and her husband moved to Costa Rica. Costa Rica is widely known for its beauty and has a very pleasant climate. Life is simple and pure there. Mrs. Seo came and spoke to us about the women in Costa Rica and shared highlights of WFWP activities in Costa Rica. She gave a very good overview of the country and in particular explained how crucial it is to improve women's economic and educational status there. She demonstrated how valuable it is for WFWP to be present there, making a difference.

At the end of the program, the participants enjoyed watching one couple dance to Spanish music. After watching, they had a chance to participate by receiving dance lessons from the couple! This created a joyful atmosphere of fun and hope for all in attendance.
